A night for charity at Ronald McDonald House’s ‘Under the Moonlight Gala’
LiquidAgents Healthcare serves as the first presenting sponsor for event.
Friends and donors for the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas enjoyed an evening of southern hospitality and live auction while raising more than $300,000 for the charity at their annual “Under The Moonlight” Gala on April 7. This was also the first year the event had a presenting sponsor, which was LiquidAgents Healthcare.
LiquidAgents’ initial contribution and strong participation in the paddle raise auction, was crucial to the evening’s success, said Diane Fullingham, Ronald McDonald House of Dallas Chief Development Officer.
“The amount of underwriting that we had going into the event was about $20,000 to $25,000 more than usual. To me, that was because LiquidAgents Healthcare was our presenting sponsor,” Fullingim said.
Ronald McDonald House of Dallas has hosted their annual gala since 2006. In the last 12 years, they have raised over $2,000,000. This money goes toward providing families with a home away from home while receiving various medical treatments.
LiquidAgents’ client advisor Kelsey Moena attended the Under the Moonlight Gala for the first time this year.
“I remember that night, feeling so proud I’m a part of this company,” Moena said. “To be in a company that cares for the community and gives back through charity, it isn’t something you see every day.”
LiquidAgents’ partnership with Ronald McDonald House of Dallas began in 2012, and the company has participated in the gala since 2013. In the past six years, LiquidAgents has provided monetary donations, resources and volunteer time. The company also became a room sponsor for the house in 2018.
A room sponsorship at the Ronald McDonald House offsets the cost of running the facility. Families are asked to pay $15 per night but are never turned away for lack of payment. In addition to housing, families are provided meals at the Ronald McDonald House.
“It’s important for organizations to support us by sponsoring a room because about 70 percent of our families can’t afford the $15 a night that we ask,” Fullingim said. “Having a place to stay and meals provided allows [families] to be able to seek the medical care for their child that they need.”
LiquidAgents will be sponsoring a room at the house for a year based on their presenting sponsorship at the Under the Moonlight Gala. LiquidAgents’ client advisory Jamison Reitinger who also attended the event for the first time said LiquidAgents’ involvement in charity efforts inspire his work ethic.
“It makes me more passionate about what I do here, knowing that I’m working for a company that cares about more than just the businesses’ profits itself,” Reitinger said. “Giving back to people who need it and volunteering at different things–that is something that really hits home for me.”
