LiquidAgents Healthcare Helps Assemble Meals for the North Texas Food Bank
On Friday, Nov. 2, LiquidAgents Healthcare team members helped sort and assemble packaged meals for those in need at the North Texas Food Bank’s new distribution center in Plano, Texas.
“Even if hunger is not visible, doesn’t mean it’s not there,” said Jenny Hanlon, CFO of LiquidAgents Healthcare. “That is why it’s so important to get involved and raise awareness for these hunger relief programs. The more we come together to give back, the bigger the impact we can make in our local communities.”
The North Texas Food Bank, a nonprofit hunger relief organization, distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network of more than 200 Partner Agencies serving 13 counties.
“This hits really close to home, as we have all been in a tight spot once or twice in our lives and it is truly great to be able to help our neighbors in need,” said Ryann Adoum, Compliance Manager.
During the 4-hour shift, LiquidAgents worked together with other volunteer groups to assemble 428 boxes with 12,600 lbs of assorted food items, totaling 4,628 meals. These boxes in particular went toward the North Texas Food Bank’s senior programs, which aim to provide senior citizens who struggle with food insecurity nutritious meals that meet their health needs. This is just one of the many programs the food bank does to help close the hunger gap that’s present in North Texas.
“Seeing everyone working together, for the greater benefit of those in need, sends a very powerful message,” added Matthew Henthorn, Talent Advisor. “It proves that no matter the differences in our lives, we can all work toward the same goal of ending hunger in North Texas.”
